Hasher Family Wines Hemel-en-Aarde – Family Winery & Cool-Climate Wines

Hasher Family Wines
Awarded ‘Winery of the Year 2026’ at the London Wine Competition (also awarded in 2025)

Hasher Family Wines is a family-owned winery located in the Upper Hemel-en-Aarde Valley near Hermanus, one of South Africa’s leading cool-climate wine regions. The area is shaped by cooling Atlantic breezes and morning mists, combined with decomposed granite and clay soils, producing elegant, mineral-driven wines.

The estate was established by the Herten-Haspeslagh family, bringing European farming heritage and a strong commitment to sustainability. Winemaking is led by Natasha Williams, with a focus on cool-climate varieties, particularly Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.

The vineyards date back to 1997, while the modern estate builds on the region’s ongoing development. Today, Hasher Family Wines spans around 180 hectares and is considered an emerging benchmark producer in the Hemel-en-Aarde area.

The philosophy is rooted in regenerative farming, minimal intervention, and a deep respect for nature. Wines are crafted in small batches to express purity, elegance, and a true sense of place, reflecting the unique coastal terroir of the valley.
