Although the brand was officially established in 2021, its roots trace back to the childhood of founder Arno Smith, spent between the vast open spaces of the Tankwa Karoo and the northern suburbs of Cape Town. Arno Smith Wine Company builds on a decade of expertise gained in the prestigious regions of Darling and Durbanville, as well as vineyards in America and Australia. This international journey shaped Arno’s conviction that the key to exceptional wine is a deep understanding of terroir, the synergy of soil, climate, and location that gives every bottle its distinct character.

The winery’s philosophy is grounded in constant growth and the courage to follow one’s own path. After serving ten years as farm manager and winemaker at Hillcrest Estate, Arno decided to venture out solo. His wines are the result of combining traditional integrity with a modern approach, aiming for nothing less than top-tier quality that reflects the best of South African soil.
