A tasting case showcasing the diversity of contemporary South African wine – from refined sparkling wine and vibrant whites to structured reds with ageing potential. South Africa has become one of the world’s most exciting wine regions thanks to its combination of old vineyards, cooling ocean influence and more than 350 years of winemaking heritage. This selection includes an elegant Méthode Cap Classique sparkling wine from Franschhoek, a fresh and expressive Sauvignon Blanc from Stellenbosch, and a Chenin Blanc from Tulbagh – a variety widely regarded as South Africa’s signature white grape. The red selection highlights three different expressions of South African winemaking: Southern Right Pinotage demonstrates the more modern and refined side of the country’s iconic variety, Le Riche Cabernet Sauvignon is consistently recognised among South Africa’s benchmark Cabernet producers, and Van Zijl Imbuke Red Ink offers a richer, more mature style with classic structure and depth. This mixed case is designed to explore the breadth of South African wine – from freshness and precision to complexity and age-worthy reds.
