Graham Beck Brut NV

Graham Beck Brut NV

Manufacturer: Graham Beck

An iconic South African Méthode Cap Classique sparkling wine crafted from 56% Chardonnay and 44% Pinot Noir. The grapes are sourced from carefully selected, hand-harvested vineyard parcels across the Western Cape, including fruit from the producer’s own estate, bringing together diverse terroir influences to create a refined and expressive Brut. Chardonnay is harvested for freshness and elegance, while Pinot Noir contributes depth, complexity and length.Following whole-bunch pressing, the varieties are fermented separately before blending and bottling. The wine then matures on its lees for 15 to 18 months prior to disgorgement, allowing it to develop greater texture, finesse and complexity. The bouquet opens with delicate yeasty aromas complemented by vibrant notes of lime and fresh citrus fruit. On the palate, lively freshness is balanced by a rich, creamy texture and subtle autolytic complexity. An exceptionally fine mousse enhances the wine’s elegance and precision, while the crisp acidity provides energy and persistence. Harmonious and refreshing, the finish is long, refined and beautifully clean, making this Brut an excellent aperitif and a versatile companion to a wide range of dishes.

Terroir

The terroir of Graham Beck is shaped primarily by two exceptional wine-growing regions – Robertson and Stellenbosch – which provide ideal conditions for producing world-class sparkling wines. In Robertson, vineyards are planted on limestone-rich soils with significant chalk content, contributing elegance, minerality, and vibrant acidity to the grapes. In Stellenbosch, deeper granite and clay-based soils add structure, complexity, and aromatic depth to the wines. The Mediterranean climate of the Western Cape also plays a crucial role, with warm days balanced by cool nights and the moderating influence of ocean breezes. This slow and even ripening process allows Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes to retain their natural freshness, bright acidity, and expressive fruit character. The combination of these diverse terroirs enables the winery to craft refined Méthode Cap Classique wines distinguished by their finesse, complexity, and long, elegant finish.
