Guardian Peak Chenin Blanc 2025
Guardian Peak Chenin Blanc 2025
Manufacturer: Guardian Peak
A bright and breezy expression of this classic South African variety, bursting with floral elegance and tropical energy. The nose opens with an aromatic bouquet of honeysuckle and pear blossom, balanced by a zesty zing of lime cordial. On the palate, juicy layers of pineapple and cantaloupe pop with freshness, supported by a crisp, zesty acidity. To add subtle depth and texture, the wine spent time on its fine lees after cool fermentation, resulting in a beautifully balanced mouthfeel and a whisper of fresh pear on the irresistibly lively finish. This is a pure and varietal-driven Chenin Blanc, perfect for immediate enjoyment.

About the Winery
Guardian Peak was launched in 1998 by Jean Engelbrecht as a dynamic, modern brand designed to complement the family’s more traditional portfolio. The vision was to create wines that reflect the South African lifestyle—approachable, versatile, and food-friendly. While Rust en Vrede represents heritage, Guardian Peak focuses on innovation and everyday enjoyment. In 2005, the brand established its own home in a contemporary winery and restaurant on the slopes of the Helderberg Mountain, boasting some of the most spectacular views in Stellenbosch.
Under the guidance of head winemaker Danielle le Roux, the focus remains on fruit-driven profiles and supple tannins. Guardian Peak is particularly well-known for its balanced blends and wines that are accessible and ready to enjoy upon release, while still maintaining the elegance and quality synonymous with the Engelbrecht family name.

Terroir
The terroir for Guardian Peak wines benefits from vineyards located within the renowned "Golden Triangle" of the Helderberg region. This specific pocket of Stellenbosch is famous for producing grapes with exceptional flavor concentration. The vines thrive in a climate that balances warm sunny days with cooling afternoon breezes from False Bay, extending the ripening period and preserving the fruit’s natural acidity.
The soils consist mainly of decomposed granite and stony sandstone, providing excellent drainage and encouraging deep root growth. This combination of elevation, maritime influence, and mineral-rich earth gives Guardian Peak wines their signature freshness and structure, serving as the perfect foundation for their fruit-forward and balanced style.
