Chenin Blanc & Pinotage

Chenin Blanc & Pinotage

A tasting package focusing on two typical South African varieties. Chenin Blanc was first brought to South Africa by Europeans in the 17th century, then in 1924, the Pinotage variety was whipped up in South Africa by Izak Perold from Pinot Noir x Cinsault. It got its name from the combination of the words Pinot and 'age' from the word Hermitage, as that is what Cinsault used to be called. The package includes Chenin Blanc from old bush from the king of this variety Ken Forrester, Chenin Blanc long macerated on the skins from boutique winery RAAR and our favourite Chenin Blanc Private Cellar from Rijks winery. Pinotage is then represented by another iconic winery Spier with their entry-level Signature Pinotage, the older and more mature 2012 vintage from Grangehurst Winery and the world famous Pinotage Southern Right. A great choice for those who want to experience typical South African varieties in all their forms.

All bottles are in 0.75l format. A 10% discount is available on tasting packages.
